Seeing as we live in the 21st century, an exciting time when APP does things instantly, this idea is now possible:
Scenario: i have a big pano and I want to see which yellow anchor placement gives best results. Currently I have to right click on the current yellow anchor, change it to whatever-that-isn't-yellow, then click on a new anchor and set that to yellow, then click on optimize or whatever the button is called. This takes a lot of time.
Proposition: Make a "hovering yellow anchor" mode, that, when activated, will let us simply move the mouse over the pano and the image the mouse is currently over automatically gets set as the single yellow anchor image (well if there are other yellow anchors that we set manually, they remain active). Since pano update will now be almost instant, this should work very well and save time, giving us instant feedback on which image works best as a yellow anchor.

Man, good idea, but you have to be aware that between each yellow anchor position, there's an optimization.

Minus one at this time.
Alexandre recall that anchor changes will need optimization, maybe not so fast for an huge pano.
Agree with Hankkarl, some pano need two or more fixed anchors. This auto 'color optimization' on 'mouseover' event will probably restrict to have only one fixed anchor. This will be a regression for comfort target only.

No problem, even now this feature would be useful to save clicking, but the new APP will be even faster than now.

The "mouse over" is optional, and it leaves all manually placed yellow anchors in place. It uses its own 'floating' yellow anchor, so if you already manually placed 2, it will float a third. Of course once you find an image that works best, you can right click and place a "fixed" yellow anchor manually.
marco-pano: as above :]

It must be an opt-in, of course. I don't do big panos and seeing the movie of GPU utilization, I think this "hover-to-set-as-yellow" feature won't be a performance problem. Currently it's very tedious - right click, move down menu, select, right click another, move down menu, select, uuum wrong one, right click...
