APP on Linux on a Sony PS3

Has anyone tried installing Autopano Pro on linux that's installed on a Playstation 3?

I just bought my PS3 recently and saw that there are a few versions of Linux that will run on it.

Because the Cell Processor in the PS3 has 9 cores, I though it might be a nice powerhouse for stitching smile

Re: APP on Linux on a Sony PS3

Re: APP on Linux on a Sony PS3

It won't work at all because the PS3 is not an intel like CPU, so the binaries are not compatible.

Re: APP on Linux on a Sony PS3

Yes, that's true that with a dedicated blender, you can have a huge speed up. If you read the same thread, you can see my answer to that. Why care with such a complicated installation on a PS3 when you have something more powerful in your computer : the GPU. That's the next big thing. We are exploring this way and it's the way to go. Even with integrated video card on chipset, you can get a huge boost in speedup. BTW : photoshop CS4 didn't use PS3 to accelerate calculation, they use GPU.
