Poles and stuff - from world of surveying

I had not thought to look at surveying equipment before but seems there is quite a lot of stuff that could be used for pano photography, for example:

most likely seeing a banner "CriminalSceneInvestigation" means to encounter a Spheron camera . . which is very widely spread among forensics. They captutre the scene as spheres being able to  take absolutely exact measurements in the panos.
