Some answers :
Dear AlexandreJ,I have another question, will 1.41 include "Tone maping" feature ?
The new HDR workflow is good :input in float format (HDR or OpenExr), output in HDR ( HDR or OpenEXR),but if there is no "Tone maping" feature inside autopano pro, there will be some problem when you want to make 360*180 tone mapped shows.
I know that you can use another program such as Photomatix to do the "Tone maping",but it's not good when you do 360*180 images, the professinal HDR programs does not consider the edge of the image, when you tone maped a 360*180 images, then view it in a viewer such as devalvr, you will see the seam in the edges are very obvious.
Because the other HDR softwares do not blend the seam for a 360*180 images.Because they are not professinal for Stitch and blend.
So,really need "Tone maping" inside autopano pro, then the new HDR workflow will become useful in the normal work.
Version 1.4.1 has the standard tonemapper already available in 1.4.0 version. Nothing has changed in the HDR processing, except that we cleaned some bug that prevented to have a full HDR workflow ( float format in input and output ). We also added support to openEXR format. BTW : level tool isn't use when doing full hdr mode for rendering.
It's been 6 months we tried many workflow to make a good HDR panorama. For the moment, the best I could find was to render in separated layer and use enfuse or tufuse tool. I found such approach far more efficient than doing many HDR, stitch them together with APP, then use an external tone mapper to get a result.
We're still studying a lot this topic because we didn't find a complete answer to that. We want something easy to use and that could cope with complicated cases where everything is moving. No tool can do that yet.
We will branch now the 1.4 version. Next week, we'll start to integrate into the codebase everything that has been created for v2.
My aim is to get the first results of all our new technologies for end of April. Beta versions for v2.0 will probably start in May. We will release regularly some new alpha series ( version where new features are being added ) during may, june, july. Beta versions ( feature stabilized, time for debugging ), August to november, for a release.
VRMAG 29 : I'm in ! http://www.vrmag.org/vartist/VR_industr … JENNY.html
Kolor news : Friday, we will officially inaugurate our new office. It was build during 8 months ( kolor office is in fact a new part of my house ).
You can have a look at the new office in the VRMAG 29 interview. I hope to create more during the inauguration Friday.

Et ben, ça booste ! Exemple : 32bit = 3'48", 64bit = 3'05". Par mal, comme gain ! J'y retourne...

My first impressions are very positive! tried rendering those panoramas that caused APP to crash, and now they rendered fine, and in fact I think under APP64 they reached the point where they used to crash under APP32 quicker! Unfortunately I couldn't time it, but I'm pretty sure that its more than just a feeling, it is faster :] and more stable!

"Version 1.4.1 has the standard tonemapper already available in 1.4.0 version",I see the tonemapper in 1.40 is two filters.
Maybe I have not really understand this tool, but Can the tonemapper in 1.41/1.40 tonemapper several layers for different speed together ? I tried, but it seems that it's only a filter, not the real tonemapper. Or maybe I didn't understand it.

Also while the panorama seems to have rendereed a bit faster and without crashing, my other applications were more responsive despite the fact that both processors were being used and I was saving the 200MP pano as png16. Good!

You lost the time. PTGUI is overhauling APP - HDR, exsposure correction, 7.7 have support of exposure fusion.

I'm sorry if some people found we are a bit slow. First, we try not hurry when a new technology come out, we prefer to find it's real usage and implement it really well. And secondly, don't forget we have two products : Autopano Pro and Autopano Server. We had huge development on the server branch last months. Now, we're back on Autopano Pro branch for several month => up to September probably. There will be many new features ![]()

How can PTGUI be "overhauling" APP and why any time has been "lost" is beyond me? Do PTGUI authors have any control over APP development now? And what's that with the lost time?

There is no need to attack "Panorama fanatic" views… he has always been a very helpful member even if he was, as I was, a little annoying. Panorama fanatic is a very good user, trying to point out what APP should be in the future, even describing what APP team missed meanwhile !!
No body thinks that APP is less impressive than PTgui… but competition is really right there…
Who will be the best in the shortest time!!! APP or PtGui ???
Hi!
In my opinion APP is definitely better than PFGui in terms of handling, detecting and setting cps and rendering.
Thje shortcomes are - as i see it personally - the cp-editing. But in the 1.4.1 version the detection/setting of cps seems to be really improved.
I tried the PTGui-Demo for some months - i´m not impressed.
best, Klaus

I like when every people gives their point of view, but just not in the announcement session.
