Hi everybody.
The hard work is continuing and next big stuff is this forum. So here's the project but if you have any wish, just step into this thread and post !
Planned :
- Two new forums in english and french part : English : "Cameras, hardware, equipment", French : "Appareil photo, pieds, et accessoires"
The aim is to have a dedicated forum for panorama hardware talking.
In the french part, a subforum will exist dedicated to fabulous job of fma38 to transform the merlin astro head into a cheap motorized panorama head.
- I will have a look on the way pictures are displayed in the forum, sometimes, there are some visual issue and it should be improved.
We had a long discussion here about splitting totally the french / english apart. My opinion is it should not be separated into two separated forums because many people even if then don't read / write well both language benefit of this mix. The main reason for this split would have been better referencing in both language. So for the moment, we will keep it as it is : status quo.
Anyway.
See you.

GREAT ideas! Beside from the idea to make fma´s Merlin-part only in French . . . . i´m VERY interested in that and my French is . . äh . . well . . it´s about 40years ago when i had French in school for seven years (didn´t learn really much those days . . )
Maybe we even have indeed a functional Mac-version of APP then . . . :-) - must not even have to be for 10.5 . . .
best, Klaus

Klaus, as soon as the new wiki is up, I plan to make a nice page for the Merlin/Orion project, in both french and english; so I think it will be ok to post in english in the dedicated forum, even if it is in the french part. Alexandre, is it ok for you?
PS: I added Orion because it is the US name of that head, and it will be better for referencing the project.

How about adding a button to automatically invoke Google language tools or Altavista babelfish or some other English->French or French -> English translator?
I know the translations are far from perfect, and often quite humorous, but its better than nothing.
BTW, we'd need a spell checker mandatory before posting, or the translator will choke on a mis-spelled word.

Fully agree with your opinion, Alexandre. Proximity of both language forums give benefit to users (many can read/write correctly both languages).
Complétement d'accord avec ton opinion, Alexandre. Garder les deux forums proches permet aux nombreux francisant/anglicisant de profiter de tous les avis. (Et puis, la Tour de Babel, c'est du passé.)

I second Hankkarl's suggestion, this would be great for those of us that make occasional contributions in our native language but lurk in the other.

I understand no word of French but I agree, keep them together. Would be good to have a button on each page that leads to eg.
http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfis … TRANSLATED
where you can see the active page translated from French to English.
BUT
If possible, please use English :]

I highly value Opera because it was (and is) one of the first and only browsers to render CSS properly (acid2 test passed).
There is a bug with displaying images in the forum. When I click on an image that is stored on the forum (as opposed to using a foreign server, eg. www.tinypic.com) and the larger version of the image opens, usually only about 20% from the top loads. I have to right click on the image and select 'reload' to load the rest. Using F5 (refresh) doesn't load the rest.
I tried with Firefox and they display fine there.

BTW : Expect some trouble today on the forum ...
