As some people already noticed, we skipped a version : the 1.3.1 final version was discarded.
Why did we do that ?
When adding the feature that allows to move picture around using the mouse in the control point editor, it shows that the design was not really good and adequate for this feature. So, we changed our mind and create a motion mode, in which UI will be designed for moving picture around.
Fairly quickly, it appears that many similarity with this mode and the layer editor. So we merged them ! It's a huge change in the UI but a real improvement over the previous version.
With so much change in a single version, it was logical to switch to 1.4 branch.
And fisheye ?
As I said before, we were not far from the full support of them already and reactivating the code was pretty straightforward. That's why it was easy to support fisheye in this branch. As it is also a really wanted feature, it was logical to do so.
So enough talking, when ?
Hum ... the first beta before end of month for sure.

That's great news! Maybe you could post a simple video of how the new interface works?

Yes, why not ... I have to find some time to do it. Perhaps next week.

Alexandre,
Thanks for great news. Will this version have color correction within and between layers?
(That is the ONLY feature I am waiting for... I still cannot stitch images that I captured a year ago)

Don't sleep, Alexandre!

Just add $50 for the pro version
PTGui Pro:
* Stitching and blending of HDR images
* Supported HDR file formats: 32 bit TIFF, PSD, PSB, OpenEXR and .hdr files
* Combining multiple LDR exposures into HDR output
* Built in tone mapper
* Source images can be linked, effectively treating them as a single image. This is useful for bracketed exposures, taken with a tripod.
There is some competition in the air, for sure.

Yes, but it just doesn't do the right job. What I saw is that it blends just bracketed pictures which has not moved.
It doesn't solve the photometric equation for the whole set of picture, only the bracketed set ( ie, the same feature as the merge to HDR in photoshop). Now, imagine you have moved and changed exposure at the same time ... imagine the scene have changed while doing the bracketed shot ...
Anyway. We are definitively not sleeping trust me.

I tested PTGUI already and agree with you - it like only bracketed HDR. Them start competition
You have big advantage, don't loss it!

speaking of HDR, will that HDR reader issue that I was having be fixed in 1.4? or what is the projected fix date for that? I'm not asking you to rush that, just wanting to know if it'll be in the next release or not.
If it is, I'll most likely have a good sized HDR to stitch come the end of June or beginning of July for part of our next project. I can give you my results as to how it works. 26 hdr files (again, from our custom software), full tonal range, 5000px tall each, to form a 360 lat-long image roughly 22k wide, output as an hdr just as it was imported.

Some update.
The fisheye support is done. We have finished every feature needed for that part ( except the import / export to panotools which needs to be update to support fisheye too ). Fisheye in APP just works as with standard lens : hit detection, wait, done
So easy. I promise to make you a video to show you that really soon.
---
We now still have some work to finish on the new panorama editor UI : bugs solving, visual issue, etc. Even if we could release a windows version for end of this week, we will not have the time to reflect change on mac and linux. And we really prefer to release all platform at the same time.
So next week.

Last week you said that ! Now this is the end of Next Week. Will we have a good surprise before the end of the day ?
Please I really can't stand ptgui or Stitcher for fisheye stitching anymore...

Meanwhile its true, that a lot of people - myself included - look for the 1.4, I can understand Alexandre very well:
Releasing software to early is a NoNo, which doesn't helps the users, nor the devs. I hate betas to "mature" on the users computer.

I have no problem to wait as Ptgui makes a fine job on Fisheye stitching I am sure APP will do it also and with more convenince also but I prefer a stable well working alpha version than one with 100 bugs which is is than not really usable.
Also APP already stitches defished Circular FE images and handles the Sigma 15mm without any problems
It is good to know that 1.4 is coming soon and thats ok for me.
My 2 cents

I really understand that this release is really wanted, but as you can see in the bug forum, we are working hard to clean this list first before, it raises again due to all new features we added.
The version is pretty stable now, but we still have some bug to solve. And unfortunately, we didn't start yet the job on mac and linux version.
I have to stop saying it will be available at a given time because I was always wrong these last months ... So you can see we are working hard to get it out, that's our aim : a near bug free, working version.

Hi Alexandre!
Just take your time . . . but did you really even start a Mac version? That would be disappointing.

For mac and linux version : I meant, reflect the evolution of windows version into them. With the technology we are using, it's pretty simple, but for such a release, it will still take 2 to 4 days.
